WATER


With 11 kilometres of water, you’d be hard pressed to run out of room on this cool, crisp reservoir. Spend your day on the beach, take the canoe or kayak for a leisurely paddle, fish for the 5 different species the lake is stocked with, or fire up the motorboat and take the family out for a day of tubing. 

CAMP


Campers in big groups or little groups for long or short stays are always welcome at 40 Mile. With 90 seasonal sites and 90 overnight sites with power, access to potable water and sewage dump, camping is a breeze for everyone from single campers to large groups. Select sites have sewer capabilities, and all sites are available May 1- September 30. 

COUNTY


Friendly faces, and beautiful places are just a start with 40 Mile County No 8. Red Rock Coulee, the Etzikom Windmill Museum, Vernon Coulee Bird Watching, and the Kennedy Coulee Ecological Area are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to activities just a short jaunt from the park.

At our Oliver Hodge Viewing Centre laundry machines are available through a coin-operated service, as well as shower facilities.

Tucked within the Oliver Hodge Viewing Centre is a quaint concession where you can purchase camping supplies, firewood, bait, ice cream, fishing supplies and snacks! At the concession  you can also enjoy some light fare at the restaurant in case you deserve a break from cooking, or if that last-minute s’more craving strikes.
40 Mile has 90 seasonal sites, 90 overnight sites, both with power and with the option of sewer, and a group camping area so you can sleep under the stars. Near the entrance gate, there is easy access to potable water, as well as a sani-dumping station to help make your trip to the park as convenient as possible. Our Paradise Point facilities are the perfect place for your next family reunion or group camping trip!  

Not only is there plenty of room for everyone at this group site, but you also have the option of renting the Paradise Point Pavillion. This covered facility has two large barbecues that can easily feed your whole crew, and helps make entertaining large groups a breeze while being protected from the elements.

Additionally, two laundry facilities are available in the park. One at the Oliver Hodge Viewing Centre, and the other near Country Corner in our brand new bathroom facility. Coin operated showers are also available for use.

Mile Park

Farmers fields and desert valleys surround this sweet little oasis tucked into the Alberta prairies. Almost as if out of nowhere, trees rise up from the hills, hidden by the rolling nature of the unique geography surrounding the park. The canals filled with rushing water escort you from Highway 879 to your destination, Southern Alberta’s summertime staple, 40 Mile Park.


This expansive 11 kilometre lake has everything you want from camping accommodations to boat launch, and is the perfect destination for those looking for that classic Alberta summer experience; warm sun, cool water, and clear skies as far as the eye can see.


Whether for water activities, fishing, bird watching or gathering around the campfire, 40 Mile Park has something to catch your interest and keep you coming back year after year.
